About Myself

I grew up near the city of Lexington, VA in the surrounding county of Rockbridge, graduating high school in 2004 and going off to college at James Madison University. During college, I participated in many activities including pledging Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and, after transferring, becoming a member of the VCU|SGA. In May 2008, I graduated with honors from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond VA, receiving a Bachelor of the Arts in Political Science and also receiving a minor in Italian. Most recently, I put that degree to good use as a campaign manager for a local Virginia Delegate’s 2009 race, which we ultimately won by nearly 42% of the vote. Currently, I’m the Deputy State Director for the Virginia chapter of a nationwide organization that advocates fiscally conservative values in local, state and federal government.

About My Photography

My current camera is a Canon Digital Rebel XS. I own a 18-55mm IS lens but tend to prefer my 75-300 telephoto zoom lens when most situations allow. As for my interest in photography, it began while editor on my high school’s photojournalism staff, noticing that a great picture could either make or break a layout. Since then, I’ve developed this interest, snapped a few shots along the way, and traveled to many places to achieve what I consider to be a fairly formidable collection of photos from many different places.

About My Site & My Designs

In the last few years, I’ve used this site mainly as a showcase for my photography. This version of the site was completely designed from the ground up by me, integrating a photoblog and blog side by side. Additionally, I’ve used Photoshop since I was 15 years old and have developed my knowledge and skill of the program and that of CSS, HTML, Joomla, and Wordpress. If I can be of any help to you in creating a site or any type of graphic design, please use the link in the navigation bar above to contact me.
